As the definitive voice for holistic nursing, the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) promotes the education of nurses, other health care professionals, and the public in all aspects of holistic caring and healing. AHNA is a non-profit membership association serving more than 5,000 members and 160 local chapters/networks across the U.S. and abroad.

AHNA offers educational programs, annual conferences, funding for research opportunities and publilcations.

American Herbal Products Association is an organization for those in the commercial business of producing and selling herbs. They have many publications ranging from topics of herbal safety to good manufacturing, tonnage of herbs produced in U.S. and reporting adverse events.

American Botanical Council (or ABC) is an independent, nonprofit research and education organization dedicated to providing ABC logoaccurate and reliable information for consumers, healthcare practitioners, researchers, educators, industry and the media. The Council describes itself as "we are passionate about helping people live healthier lives through the responsible use of herbs, medicinal plants." Their goal is to provide education using science-based and traditional information to promote responsible use of herbal medicine — serving the public, researchers, educators, healthcare professionals, industry and media.

They publish many useful information sources including the journal "Herbalgram", the books The ABC Clinical Guide to Herbs, Herbal Medicine: expanded Commission E monographs, and HerbMedPro and HerbClips databases.
