Commission Reports

Royal Commission are appointed by Cabinet to investigate and report on particular national concerns. When the investigation is complete, the findings of the commission are reported to Cabinet and the Prime Minister for appropriate action. Often, the commissions and their reports are referred to by the name of the chairperson. These reports are catalogued and listed in the HOLLIS Catalog by the official name, or sometimes under the name of the chairperson.

Index to Federal Royal Commissions by Library and Archives Canada provides bibliographic information for over 700 royal commissions.
