Records of the Harvard Cosmopolitan Club, 1908-1915 (HUD 3299)

Cosmopolitan Clubs, also known as International Clubs, were among the earliest formal organizations dedicated to serving the needs of foreign students on college campuses in the United States. The Harvard Cosmopolitan Club was organized on February 12, 1908 "to unite for their mutual benefit, social and intellectual, Harvard men of all nationalities; to promote throughout the world knowledge of Harvard and its resources; to increase the resort of foreign students; and to help these, before and after their arrival, to fulfill the object of their coming.

Records of the Harvard Chinese Students’ Club, 1908-1913, 1933-1946 (HUD 3277.3000)

The Harvard Chinese Students' Club held its first meeting 24 October 1908. The purpose of the Club was to give Chinese members of the Harvard student community the chance to socialize, discuss important matters in China, and represent the Chinese people and their concerns to the wider Harvard community.

General information by and about the Harvard-Radcliffe Asian American Association, 1978-1998, 2007, undated (HUD 3162)

Established in 1976, the Harvard-Radcliffe Asian American Association sought to meet the political, cultural, educational, and social needs of Asian American students at Harvard-Radcliffe. The organization grew out of the Coalition of Asian American Students, an early activist group formed during the Vietnam War to oppose the U.S. war effort. While the coalition dissolved after the war ended, it served as a precedent for founding the Association.

The Harvard-Radcliffe Chinese Students Association, also known as HRCSA, is a political, cultural, and social organization open to all students interested in celebrating and learning about Chinese culture and the place of Chinese-Americans in today's society. The Association aims to promote awareness of Chinese culture and society while supporting a social environment for students of all backgrounds at Harvard College. Year of the Dog Banquet promotional materials and program, February 2018 (HUD 3277.2000.1)

The collection contains promotional materials and a program from the Harvard-Radcliffe Chinese Students Association annual Chinese New Year Banquet. Includes a poster that was used to advertise the event, a flyer that could be folded in three parts like a brochure, and an event program with the HRCSA Board members, a menu, and a list of the celebration’s performances.

The Committee of Concerned Asian Scholars (CCAS) was founded in 1968 by a group of graduate students and younger faculty as part of the opposition to the American war in Vietnam. Includes recommendations to the Massachusetts Political Action for Peace on ending United States military involvement in Southeast Asia, a fact sheet rebuttal to United States President Richard Nixon's April 30, 1970 speech on Cambodia, and a fact sheet on the Indochina War.
