Library Services for Academic Continuity

The Harvard College Libraries offer a variety of services and systems that can be used to help maintain academic continuity for students and instructors who must isolate for medical reasons. This document highlights key resources available to students and scholars who are unable to physically access the libraries or participate in in-person library instruction due to quarantine requirements.

Library Instruction:
Librarians are frequently invited to provide instruction to students during class sessions throughout the term. Students who are unable to be present for in-class library instruction sessions should contact their instructor for help making arrangements with the librarian who may be able to provide recorded modules or  schedule a virtual instruction/consultation session either during or outside of class-time.

Librarians are frequently invited to provide instruction to students during class sessions throughout the term. Students who are unable to be present for in-class library instruction sessions due to quarantine restrictions can work with their instructor to make arrangements with a course or liaison librarian for either recorded modules or to schedule an virtual instruction/consultation session either during or outside of class-time.

In some instances librarians may also be able to make arrangements with an instructor to accommodate quarantining students via Zoom during live instruction sessions.

Special collections librarians and archivists may also be able to make arrangements for the virtual presentation of objects and artifacts to students, in consultation with course instructors.
