Archival Collections

To start, click on the titles in the list below to access the HOLLIS catalog record for the collection. The catalog record will give you an idea of restrictions, whether the collection is stored onsite or offsite, and a link to the finding aid.

For collections with finding aids, you will use that document to guide you in requesting materials. For the call slip we need the collection name, call number (i.e., MC 412; A-54; A/H282; etc.), and the box numbers you'd like. For collections without finding aids, please ask us at the reference desk or use the Ask a Schlesinger Librarian web form.

Onsite collections may be requested whenever you visit. Retrieval time for offsite material is overnight on most business days when requests are received before 3:00pm. Please note that materials requested on a Friday arrive on Monday, and Saturday requests arrive on Tuesday.

Condition of Use forms will be provided to you as necessary before we give you the material. There is nothing you need to do ahead of time regarding this form.
