Main Lobby (First Floor)

Welcome!

Welcome to the Harry Elkins Widener Memorial Library. Feel free to visit the library throughout Junior Family Weekend! Keep your eye out for QR codes throughout the building. When you scan a QR code with your smartphone camera you can learn more about this library's history and collections, as well as the Harvard Library system and services available to your junior student.

About Harvard's Libraries

Widener is often referred to as Harvard’s “flagship” library. It is the largest of Harvard’s many libraries, with extensive collections of humanities and social sciences materials. The Harvard Library system also includes a library designed especially for undergraduates, libraries that support specific academic departments, libraries at each of Harvard’s professional schools, as well as libraries dedicated to archives, rare books, and manuscripts. Most of the libraries are located in Cambridge or Boston, though there are Harvard libraries as far afield as Washington, D.C., and Florence, Italy.

Your Library Access During Junior Family Weekend

Families are invited to visit some campus libraries on their own during regular library hours throughout the March 24-27 weekend. After visiting Widener, see "What's Next" for details.
