Final Assignment

Students will produce a final project that takes into account the various themes addressed and discussed across different weeks and units:▪The final project may be a research-oriented paper that seeks to generate a new interpretative framework for thinking about Asian American literature and the Asian American experience; it may also be a literary analysis-oriented paper that considers specific Asian American works closely to consider an issue relevant to Asian American studies.▪The final project may be a creative project with a 5-page research artist statement(subject to prior approval by the instructor).Possible creative options are:comics and graphic novel, creative writing, art work, curating an exhibit (imagined or on an online platform), a protest event, etc.Accompanying the creative work is an artist’s research statement that includes secondary sources and an analytical explanation of your thought process.
