This guide contains registration tips for the Lexis, Westlaw and Bloomberg Law legal research databases, as well as vendor-provided materials and information about training sessions as they become available.
This guide is intended for Harvard Law School students only. Faculty, staff and other Harvard affiliates should contact firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
Introductory and ongoing vendor training sessions will be posted here and on our Research Training Calendar as they become available. Click on the links there, or under "Upcoming Events" below, to sign up.
At this time, no sessions will take place on the HLS campus. All sessions will be conducted online.
NOTE: Training sessions may be geared toward a particular group (such as 1Ls) or focus on a particular topic, but anyone (LLMs, Transfers, etc) may attend.
To register for Lexis, go to https://register.lexisnexis.com/.
Enter your name and HLS student email address on the first page, along with the HLS registration code you received in your library email. On the second page, please be sure to select the radio button for “Student,” and then select your appropriate program term (e.g. 3 years). Check out the attached flyer for further information.
Once you’ve registered your Lexis+ ID, you can start using Lexis+ right away for legal research at https://plus.lexis.com or start at the Lexis lawschool homepage at www.lexisnexis.com/lawschool to find links specifically for HLS law students. Information about how to reach your HLS Lexis student reps, and links to orientation and training sessions, will also appear on the lawschool homepage.
