Cover letters are a form of persuasive writing. In 3-4 paragraphs, you convince your reader that you are the right person for the job.

  • Identify the primary goals of the position and the organization. Emphasize the aspects of your experience and education that most closely align with both.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional voice that shows enthusiasm and confidence and gives a sense of your personality.
  • Think of the cover letter as a brief written interview: how would you present yourself to your future employer if they asked you
