In A & I 49, we read a variety of ancient and medieval literary, philosophical, scientific and religious texts in order to explore the medieval period’s rich and varied account of the imagination. To get the most out of these complex texts, it will be essential for you to develop close reading and other skills of textual analysis, as well as research skills. This guide is designed to offer help with close reading strategies, also offering tips for reading difficult philosophical texts, writing effective and persuasive papers, and locating resources for research on topics in medieval studies and literature in general.
