Major Newspapers & Magazines
Through Harvard Library, you can sign up for individual accounts with four major newspapers:
- Financial Times (Harvard Login) Register for a special "premium" account for the FT.com website by clicking on the link and using your Harvard e-mail address. After the initial registration process, you can use your ID and password to access the FT.com web site directly. If you need to re-register, follow the link but then click the Sign In button instead of filling out the registration form. For historic FT content, check the Financial Times Historical Archive (Harvard Login), which covers 1888-2016.
- New York Times (Harvard Login) Create an individual account for the New York Times using your Harvard e-mail address in order to access nytimes.com as well as the newspaper's mobile app. Historical content is available in Factiva (Harvard Login) (from 1980) and ProQuest Historical Newspapers (Harvard Login) (1850-2017).
- Wall Street Journal (Harvard Login) You can create an individual account for the Wall Street Journal with your HKS email address. Historical content is available in Factiva (Harvard Login) (from 1979) and ProQuest Historical Newspapers (Harvard Login) (1889-2000).
- Washington Post (Harvard Login) You can create an individual account for the Washington Post with your HKS email address or access the newspaper's website through Harvard Library's institutional subscription. Historical content is available in Factiva (Harvard Login) (from 1977) and ProQuest Historical Newspapers (Harvard Login) (1877-2004).
These accounts work on their websites as well as on their mobile apps and will be good until you graduate.

- Nexis Uni (Harvard Login) Provides access to thousands of newspapers from around the world. Includes transcripts of broadcast and cable news from both the U.S. and other countries.
Regional coverage:
- Africa Confidential (Harvard Login) Offers in-depth reporting on political, social, and economic developments on the African continent.
- African Newsstream (Harvard Login) Collection of major, mostly English-language news publications from across the African continent.
- AllAfrica.com (Harvard Login) Provides access to daily news stories from over 130 African publishers in English and French through direct links to its content providers, as well as both text and audio from the BBC and RFI. AllAfrica.com's staff also publish pages on business, conflict resolution, environment, the arts, books, education, media and more.
- Asian Newsstream (Harvard Login) Covers English-language news publications primarily from South and Southeast Asia, including current issues of the Times of India.
- China Core Newspaper Database (Harvard Login) Full-text versions of national, regional, and local Chinese newspapers and periodicals from 2000 to present. Articles are viewable as PDF or in the proprietary CAJViewer.
- NK News (Harvard Login) News services focusing on North Korea. Provides news, opinion & analysis, research tools, data, and subject specialists.
- EastView Universal Databases (Harvard Login) Includes Russian central and regional newspapers along with Russian/NIS news wires.
- Eureka (Harvard Login) Focuses primarily on news sources from Europe and Canada.
- European Newsstream (Harvard Login) Database of European news sources; most are English-language publications, but several major publications in other languages are also included.
- Latin American Newsstream (Harvard Login) Provides access to about 100 news publications from (or about) Latin America.
- MSI (Harvard Login) Provides more than 4,000 records/month gathered from the most studies, opinions, and analyses published in 250 Arab newspapers and magazines.
- MideastWire.com (Harvard Login) Daily newsletter of concise, translated briefs covering pieces appearing in the media of the 22 Arab countries, Iran, and the Arab Diaspora.
- Middle East Newsstream (Harvard Login) Collection of primarily English-language news publications from the Middle East and North Africa.
Journalism Focusing on International Affairs
- The Economist (Harvard Login)London-based weekly news magazine (which somehow still likes to refer to itself as a "newspaper") that contains excellent coverage of current events around the globe.

If you experience any difficulty with access you can also get articles in ABI/Inform or by using the unproxied Economist website while on the Harvard VPN. - Foreign Affairs (HKS Login)Perhaps the most influential American magazine in foreign policy and international relations, published bimonthly by the Council on Foreign Relations.
- Foreign Policy (Harvard Login)Website of the bimonthly magazine, updated daily; contains news, analysis, and opinion—as well as some very interesting, informative podcasts.
- Project Syndicate (Harvard Login)Billed as "the world's opinion page," publishes commentary and op-eds from major international scholars and intellectuals on a vast array of topics in international politics, economics, etc.
