Harvard-Yenching Library Orientation Guide

Patrons must submit a Hollis Special Request to access Harvard-Yenching Library Special Collections. In Hollis, select " Request to Copy/Scan or Visit" from the item's record to submit your request.

The Special Collections Reading Room is loacated on the 3rd floor of HYL. Appointments must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Walk-in and same-day appointments are not available.

After your request is approved, reserve a seat in the 3rd floor Reading Room

You can explore most of Harvard-Yenching Library's archival collections via EAD finding aids on HOLLIS for Archival Discovery. Some include direct links to digitized items. To access materials in person, use the "Add to My Request List" button and submit your request.
