George recommends using Google Scholar to search for scholarly articles. First, log in. Then, make a one-time connection of your Google Scholar to Harvard Library.
Google Scholar can be a great way to search for a very broad range of scholarly material and take advantage of Google's relevance ranking, especially when you have fairly specific search terms to use. It does not have the highly structured content .that allows for very precise searching or the same functionality to filter search results.
Google Scholar also include citation counts for how many times the article has been cited in other scholarship. This can be help to trace an articles impact since it was first published. Note that the methodology for the citation counts in Google Scholar is different from that used in more longstanding scholarly citation indexes like Web of Science.
