In addition, Harvard subscribes to premium content including Experian Simmons Local for market research data and D&B for business demographics.
- PolicyMap (Harvard Login)Generate reports, create tables and maps. Note that all materials are saved to one My PolicyMap account for all of Harvard University. Click on "My PolicyMap" at top right of the screen to access saved materials. Includes demographics, home sale statistics, health data, mortgage trends, school performance scores and labor data like unemployment, crime statistics and city crime rates.
- Social Explorer (Harvard Login)Create maps and tables of data from the decennial Census and the American Community Survey from 1790-present. Also includes US election data, business pattern data and religion surveys.
- U.S. Cluster Mapping ProjectMapping tool that provides over 50 million open data records on industry clusters and regional business environments in the United States to promote economic growth and national competitiveness. The project is led by Harvard Business School's Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Economic Development Administration.

- Census of GovernmentsPublished every five years (in years ending in 7 and 2.) This U.S. Census Bureau resource provides statistics on state and local government, including finance, employment, and organizational characteristics.
- Council of State Governments, States PerformProvides users with access to interactive, customizable and up-to-date comparative performance measurement data for 50 states in six key areas: fiscal and economic, public safety and justice, energy and environment, transportation, health and human services, and education.
- Fiscally Standardized Cities (FiSC) databaseProvided by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, this database compares local government finances for over 200 of the largest U.S. cities across more than 120 categories of revenues, expenditures, debt, and assets. The FiSC estimates are critical for making meaningful fiscal comparisons at the city level, because the delivery of public services is organized in different ways in different cities.
- My Congressional DistrictQuick access to selected statistics collected by the U.S. Census Bureau through the American Community Survey.
- State & Local Finance Data Query SystemData from the Census of Governments State and Local Finance series. That series contains detailed revenue, expenditure and debt variables for the United States, each of the 50 states, and the District of Columbia.
- U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, Regional Economic AccountsStatistics that detail the geographic distribution of U.S. economic activity and growth and provide a consistent framework for analyzing and comparing individual state and local area economies. Includes GDP, personal income, personal consumption statistics for states, counties, regions, metropolitan areas, and other local geographic units.
- U.S. City Open Data CensusCrowdsourced measure of public access to public datasets in municipalities across the United States. The project is run collaboratively by the Sunlight Foundation and Open Knowledge International, with the help of a dedicated group of volunteers.
