  • Scan & Deliver - Scan & Deliver is a free, electronic document delivery service for Harvard students, faculty, staff, summer school students and research assistants. You may request and obtain electronically scanned portions of certain items from the library collections that are currently on the shelf.

Not available at Harvard?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and enables Harvard University students, faculty, and staff with library borrowing privileges to request materials (books, scans of articles) not owned by Harvard libraries. Login to your Interlibrary Loan account to place your request. First-time users will be required to fill out a registration form before proceeding.  

Set Alerts

Almost all databases (and Google Scholar) allow you to set email alerts based on your search strings.  Many journals also have Table of Content alerts when new issues come out.  [Most require you sign up for free account within their platform to use this feature - this registration will not get you access to the database or full-text articles - for that be sure to use our proxy linked library databases especially if you are using PubMed.]

  • You can set your Google Scholar settings to show library access links

    • Go to Settings

    • Click on Library Links

    • Add Harvard (and MIT if you are a registered student)
