A Language to Hear Myself: A Celebration of 20th Century Feminist Poets

Call for Submissions

A Language to Hear Myself is a celebration of 20th century feminist poets in dramatic form. It will take place on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. This piece, staged in Schlesinger Library, will feature readings from the work of feminist poets throughout the 20th century as well as poems by current members of the Harvard student community. The Schlesinger Library holds the personal papers of several of the poets who will be featured including Adrienne Rich, June Jordan, Honor Moore, Eve Merriam, Jean Valentine, and Pat Parker.

You are invited to submit a poem in response to one or more of the poems in our selected historical poems packet, available below; the selected writers will be invited to rehearse and perform their own work along with actors from the American Repertory Theater’s Institute of Advanced Theater Training and undergraduates in the Theater, Dance, and Media Concentration.

Submissions are due by midnight on Monday, January 25, 2016.
