Ida Fisher Davidoff (1903-2001)Davidoff was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Lithuanian Jewish Immigrants. She attended both Simmons and Radcliffe Colleges, and married Leo Davidoff, a neurosurgeon, in 1926. They had four children together and lived in New Canaan, Connecticut, where Ida was active in the League of Women Voters, Hadassah, and the PTA. She went back to school at Yale, the University of Pennsylvania, and Columbia, where she studied family therapy focusing on the lives and mental health of older women. Her memoir describes her childhood and Jewish community life in Boston, her college years, a trip to Europe with her husband, life as a wife and mother, and her study about women and aging later in life.
