The Schlesinger Library is a non-circulating library. While books, periodicals and original manuscripts may not be checked out, certain microfilmed manuscript collections are available for interlibrary loan.
To request an interlibrary loan of this microfilmed material, a researcher must first make arrangements for the loan through his/her own library. There is no fee for the loan. The researcher's interlibrary loan office must submit:
• A standard ALA ILL Form. (available as a Word document below; The Library does not participate in any automated ILL systems.)
• An Interlibrary Loan of Manuscript Material Form (available as a PDF below), signed by the researcher intending to use the microform.
Send the forms by mail, email, or fax to:
Attn: Research Services
3 James Street
Cambridge, MA 02138
Microform must be returned within four weeks of the date of mailing.
Return of Material
The borrowing library must return (insured) the microforms promptly after the loan period. If the package is not insured and is lost, the borrowing library will be liable for replacement costs.
Microforms must be used in the borrowing library.
