The Schlesinger Library building is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Library will be closed for the following upcoming holidays during the fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters:

Winter Recess begins on Wednesday, December 24th, 2025. The Library will reopen on Monday, January 5th, 2026.

The Library will be closed on Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and on Monday, February 16th in observance of Presidents' Day. 

On Monday, March 30th–Thursday, April 2nd, the Reading Room will close early at 3:00PM.

The Schlesinger Library Reading Room is open Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 4:45pm, with the building closing to researchers at 5:00pm. Please review current access policies. Please note that if it is your first visit to the Library, you will be required to show a photo ID at the reception desk on the first floor.

While masks are not required in the Reading Room, we have a supply of masks available in the Reading Room for anyone interested. For assistance, please ask at the desk.
