United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
UNEP, established in 1972, "works to encourage sustainable development through sound environmental practices everywhere." In addition to information from its headquarters in Nairobi, this website links to UNEP Regional Offices, UNEP Divisions, Global Resource Information Database, UNEP Convention Secretariats, Regional Seas Programme, UNEPnetCentre and other relevant links.

United Nations Atlas of the Oceans
This online ocean atlas provides information relevant to the sustainable development of the oceans. It is a collaborative effort between the UN and a number of scientific institutions. Included are maps, links to related sites, and more than 2,000 documents on 900 relevant subjects.

Harvard's Environmental Science and Public Policy Archives
Harvard's ESPPA contain some relevant documents of UN environmental conferences, etc. For example:

  • Parson, Edward A. Stratospheric Ozone Collection, 1976-1997 under "call number" ESPP EAP002. These files include UNEP meeting files.
  • Thacher, Peter S., Environment collection. part I, 1960-1996 under "call number" ESPP PST001
  • Thacher, Peter S., Environment collection. part II, 1957-1999 under "call number" ESPP PST002

The Thacher collection consists of correspondence and organizational files generated by an organization or event, personal business, and administrative or biographical files of the former UNEP director.
