What is this Toolkit for?
Welcome to the K-12 Toolkit for Teachers: Open Educational Resources, Open and Free Resources/Tools. This is meant to be a toolkit especially for those who want to incorporate Open Educational Resources (OER) in their classroom, curriculum, or lesson planning. It is also meant as a resource guide to finding open educational resources, professional development content, and free and open content.
Some of the content shown on this guide have a creative commons license or wording on how the item can be used (or not). Please be mindful of providing proper attribution. There will be a section on attribution further down on this page. Please note that this toolkit is meant to be a starting point. If the guide does not show you the resources, it does not mean they do not exist! Please make an appointment with the Open Education Research Librarian.
For a refresher on open educational resources (OERs) or Creative Commons Licenses, please check out the general OER guide. Contact the Open Education Research Librarian with any questions (you can make appointments even after graduation!) or assistance.
Proper Attribution
It is important to provide proper attribution when using information, resources, images, or text that belongs to someone else. In other words, give credit where credit is due. If you decided to use work that has a Creative Commons License, you can use the following recommended practices for attribution--TASL.
