Welcome

Harvard Library holds a rich collection of first and early editions and manuscript copies of the musical works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The purpose of this guide is both to alert Mozart scholars to these significant resources and also to gather together in one list items housed in several locations within the Eda Kuhn Loeb Music Library and Houghton Library. While these items are cataloged in HOLLIS this list offers the opportunity to identify all the primary sources for a given work held at Harvard without having to first sort through the many study editions which also appear in the HOLLIS indexes. We continue to augment this premier collection with new acquisitions. Questions concerning the content of this guide, and about access and photoduplication, may be sent to Christina Linklater

Some of these materials, such as the microforms, are in open stacks at the Isham Memorial Library and are available for use whenever Isham is open, generally Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. Isham is located on the second floor of the Loeb Music Library.

Access to materials in the Merritt Room and at Houghton Library is granted through the Special Collections Request Account system. Please click on View Onsite to tell Isham or Houghton staff that you are interested in working with an item in person.
