FACETS
Search results can be filtered using the selections on the left-hand column in the full-text search (known as facets). The facets include:
● Type
● Material
● Author
● Publication date
● Subject
● Language
BHL will automatically facet with each selection. Multiple facets may be used sequentially. For example, search “brewster”. Note that there are more than 18,000 items in the “Publications” tab.
Next, choose “correspondence” under facet “Type,” which will show all the correspondence files, now only 123 in the “Publications” tab.
Finally, limit to “Walter Deane” to see only 13 items in the “Publications” tab. You could then narrow your choices further if needed.
