History of Public Health at Harvard

Manuscripts and archival collections for researching the history of public health, including resources related to the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Course Catalogs

An almost complete collection of course catalogs from 1913-current are available online to the public through the Internet Archive. A small number of catalogs have only recently been discovered and are not yet digitized, and therefore can only be accessed in person. Catalogs between 2012-2015 exist in both print and digital forms; catalogs post-2015 are digital, only (see the special note about course catalogs from 2012-present). Please contact the Harvard Chan Archivist with questions or to donate a missing catalog.

Special Note: 2012-current Course Catalogs

In 2012, the Harvard Chan School began their transition away from a printed, paper-based course catalog in favor of a digital database. The earliest years of the digital catalog (2012-2015) were unable to be exported as individual academic years. As a work-around, a single PDF file was generated that spans 2012-2021 (as the file was created in 2021). A complete list of all available holdings (print and digital) are given above.

Our team recommends that users interested in accessing digital course catalog for AYs 2012-2015 use the Summer 2012 - Spring 2021 catalog. Users can also make an appointment in our reading room to see the print copies of AYs 2012-2015.

For AY 2015 onward, please consult the individual digital catalogs linked above.
