History of Public Health at Harvard

Manuscripts and archival collections for researching the history of public health, including resources related to the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Diversity and Inclusion: A Historical Perspective

The Center for the History of Medicine's public health collections are acquired based on their connections to the Harvard Chan School, and typically include the records of departments and offices, faculty, and research.

Perspectives of BIPOCs are currently underrepresented, if not somewhat buried in our holdings. In the past, we have partnered with various offices at the Harvard Chan School to uncover this history. We recognize there is more work to be done, both in collecting and in research. We are eager to connect and partner with our community to address these gaps. If you have ideas or questions, please contact the Harvard Chan Archivist.
