The ADB staff collects biographical references from a wide range of sources in a file including about 300,000 Australians.  About 8000 entries, about 50 words each, have been published as A Biographical register, 1788-1939: 521129 notes from the name index of the Australian dictionary of biography.  The ABD staff will consult the Register for remote users     SUBMITTED

Over 3000 articles, with source lists, on deceased figures transplanted and aboriginal. Usually 500-1000 words. Searchable by personal name, occupation, region/decade of activity, tribal affiliation, birth/death decade, birth country.
