Which Latin and Greek dictionaries and lexicons are available online?
There has been a strong effort recently to digitize some important Latin and Greek dictionaries. The Pocket Oxford Latin Dictionary is useful for quick Latin-English and English-Latin look-ups. Online versions of Lewis and Short's Latin Dictionary and Liddell-Scott-Jones' Greek Lexicon are available through the Perseus Project. An online version of S.C. Woodhouse's English-Greek Dictionary is available from University of Chicago Library. The Database of Latin Dictionaries includes Blaise - Patristic (Dictionnaire latin-français des auteurs chrétiens, 1954, 1967, 2005), Firmini Verris Dictionarius (Dictionnaire médiéval latin-français, 1440), and Du Cange (Glossarium mediae et infimae latinitatis, ed. 1883-1887). The ARTFL project features an electronic version of Robert Estienne's Dictionarium latinogallicum (1552) (Latin-French dictionary). Jan Frederik Niermeyer's Mediae Latinitatis Lexicon Minus is available through the Acta Sanctorum database.
